Hansen's Northwest Native Plant Database

Gifts from Wally

Calendar 2016: Native Shrubs for the NW Garden--Our yearly calendar is ready for you to download--print if you like or just use it from your hard drive--your choice.

This year’s calendar brings 12 landscape shrubs or small trees which are a bit unusual in that each one bears a gift for your garden.

These are easy to grow plants, well behaved, and attractive at different times of the year.

In the mix are edibles for humans and/or wildlife, flowers suitable for cutting; there is blazing fall color and fragrance for the garden; parts of some plants are known for their medicinal qualities; others offer materials for crafts or household uses. And, for the most part, these native plants are rarely found in the ordinary garden.

Take a walk on the wild side the way many of the Original Peoples here still do: invite an old-time visitor to return to your garden. It’s a natural!

Welcome to Wally's page of gifts we have created for your enjoyment. They are truly gifts to you, they are yours absolutely free as our way of thanking you for your interest in Northwest Native Plants.

The question arises: why do you do this? Why do you make these beautiful things and then just give them to us?

The answer is: because we believe so strongly that using Northwest Native Plants in the landscape is the best thing you can do for the earth. And because we truly appreciate your interest in natural gardening.

There are no "nag" screens, there are no licenses to buy. The older products have the logo and business information of Wally's nursery which is now just a memory.

The only caveat attached to all the gifts we present to you is that we retain the copyright for them. You may print as many as you wish, you may give them to friends. You may NOT decompile or use any of these items for profit or gain, in part or in whole, and you must give full credit for each item to The Wild Garden: Hansen's Northwest Native Plant Database.

We publish most of our downloadables in "pdf" form and you'll need Adobe's free Acrobat Reader to view, save or print them. Click on this link to get this handy program: Get Adobe Reader. We chose the Reader style because it makes viewing quick, it's easy to use, and thanks to Adobe it's entirely free.

We hope you enjoy these gifts as much as we enjoy creating them for you.

Wally's Wildflower Coloring Book

This wildflower coloring book is suitable for young and old alike. Some flowers are very easy to color and some are more detailed. It's perfect for a child and parent or grandparent to share, sitting side by side and enjoying a quiet moment together while talking about the native flowers.
